Your place - Tauherenikau

This little dot on the map in South Wairarapa is on State Highway 2, five kilometres from Featherston. Around 200 people live permanently in the immediate vicinity, in an area of the country that has seen a healthly 7 percent population growth since the 2006 census. Tauherenikau is a shallow river valley known mostly for two things: the racecourse and the iconic Tin Shed hotel.
