Legalising cannabis a worry for primary industry sector

Primary sector employers are worried that legalisation of recreational cannabis could heighten health and safety risks. The sector already has one of the highest workplace accident and death rates in the country and leaders say it could be huge risk if the referendum gets support on October the 17th. Chief Executive of Rural Contractors Association Roger Parton says employees in his sector drive large machinery on and off roads in dangerous places and says the idea of someone driving while impaired from cannabis is simply frightening. He told our reporter Riley Kennedy there is not enough information for employers to plan to put workplace policies in place if someone is under the influence.
