Your Place - Ward, Marlborough

From Afternoons, 1:17 pm on 19 August 2010

Ward has fewer than 1000 permanent residents and not all of them live within the township. It's a farming community of course, a large sheep station was established there in 1847. That station, known as"Flaxbourne", was subdivided in 1905 and a new town was created the following year, taking its name from the Prime Minister of the day Joseph Ward.
