2015 NZCT Chamber Music Contest National Finals, compèred by Kate Mead

From nearly 2000 students from around the country who entered the competition, six ensembles competed in the final in Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre last week, for a range of prizes.

The six National finalists were Auckland’s Vazin Trio, Amici Quartet and Cube, together with Christchurch’s Jeunesse Élégante and Papricca, and Wellington’s Trio Glivenko. (RNZ)

At the turn of the 18th century, Imperial Vienna was the setting for political as well as artistic upheaval. A new yearning for individual expression gave Schubert the impetus to forge poetry and music into a fresh, powerful metaphor for human experience.
