New Zealand's Jesse Sergent will ride for gold later this morning after qualifying first in the
men's individual pursuit at the track cycling world championships in Copenhagen
Sergent crosssed 4min 15.98 seconds with the American world champion Taylor Phinney second in 4min 16.102 seconds.
Wesley Gough was seventh fastest in the pursuit while in the keirin Sam Webster qualified after finshing second in his heat and Simon van Velthooven won his repechage ride to also qualify.
The women's team pursuit riders Rushlee Buchanan, Lauren Ellis and Alison Shanks, will ride for bronze after qualifying third fastest behind Great Brutain and Australia and ahead of the USA
Tom Scully rides in the scratch race followed by the keirin and individual pursuit.
