Warriors hit back at co-owners claims of disrespect

The Warriors have denied claims by co-owner Sir Owen Glenn that former coach Matt Elliott was sacked rather than resigned and say the process was respectful.

Glenn described Elliott's axing as 'diabolical' suggesting the head coach didn't walk away from the role as the Warriors asserted but was in fact 'pushed'.

He said Elliott's dumping hadn't been approved by the club's full board, himself included.

However the Warriors chairman, Bill Wavish, says the decision was made with the full knowledge and support of the board and that Elliott told him he considered the process to be respectful.

Wavish also says Elliott helped finalise the release surrounding his resignation.
