New Zealand's four time Bathurst 1000 champion Greg Murphy will miss this weekend's V8 Supercar round in Tasmania after undergoing back surgery.
Murphy had surgery to repair a ruptured disc in his back after having an MRI scan yesterday.
The Holden driver had been troubled by the injury which he suffered in a 2010 crash and re-injured in another crash during qualifying this year's season opener the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.
Murphy says there's no doubt he'll be right for the next round in Hamilton in a just under a month.
