A gang member has been charged with importing methamphetamine, after millions of dollars worth of the Class A drug was seized at Auckland Airport.
The Class A drug was intercepted at the airport, with 2.2 kilograms seized immediately, though the man faces other charges relating to another 1.2 kilograms - a total of 3.4 kilograms allegedly imported.
Police said the amount seized was worth over $2 million.
The 29-year-old man, who is a patched member of the Tribesman gang, faces five charges including importation of methamphetamine and conspiracy to import Class A controlled drugs.
He is expected to appear at the Manukau District Court tomorrow morning.
