Name suppression for murder-accused ends

The 29-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in central Auckland last Friday can now be named.

Mandeep Singh's name suppression expired at 5pm today.

He is due to appear in the High Court in Auckland next month.

Mr Singh is accused of murdering Parmita Rani, who was attacked and died of her injuries after an exam at the AWI International Education Group school on Queen Street.

Ms Rani, who was 22, was originally from the Punjab area in India and came to New Zealand two years ago to study.

A 22 year-old man was also injured in the attack.
