The four-part series Fight for the Wild picked up two awards - Best Factual Series and Best Original Score.

It explores the notion of New Zealand's Predator Free 2050 goal and was produced by Peter Young, Tracey Roe and Dave Hansford for Fisheye Productions, with the score composed by Tom McLeod.

Untold Pacific History won the prize for Best Pasifika Programme and was made by Lisa Taouma and Tuki Laumea at Tikilounge Productions.

The series shines a light on five key stories in the Pacific that have been little-told in Aotearoa.

RNZ head of content Megan Whelan said it was awesome to see the acknowledgement of these series.

"It's so important that stories like these are told, and we're continuing to work with independent producers to make content that's important to the people of Aotearoa. We currently have 17 more projects in production or pre-production."

Whelan said both series were made possible by the RNZ/NZ On Air Joint Innovation Fund, which was an important milestone in RNZ's development as a multi-platform media organisation.
