Sales climb at Michael Hill International

Jewellery retailer Michael Hill International has reported solid growth across its portfolio.

Group same store sales climbed 5.1 percent to almost $A400 million in the nine months to the end of March.

In New Zealand, same store sales rose 6.5 percent to about $NZ94 million.

Michael Hill said the New Zealand arm of the business continued to trade strongly, while Canada and the United States notched gains.

It said its Emma and Roe 14 branded stores were still in a trial phase, but there were plans to open two new stores before the end of the financial year.
