About a dozen homes were flooded in Auckland as heavy downpours hit during a fast-moving storm last night.
Fire crews were called out to properties on the North Shore including several houses in the suburb of Forrest Hill.
Northern Fire communications shift manager Jaron Phillips said calls started coming in around 9pm
He said crews helped pump water from basements in the suburbs of Cockle Bay, Forrest Hill, Murrays Bay, as well as in Parnell and Half Moon Bay.
