A midwifery student says she was horrified at how much responsibility she was expected to take on, as trainees are used to plug the profession's 40 percent workforce shortage.
With more than four out of ten students dropping out due to financial pressure and burnout, the College of Midwives says the Government's plan to boost numbers will fail if it's not adequately funded and supported.
