Pike River families shed fresh tears for their husbands and sons after the police told them the remains of up to three more men had been found in the far western end of the mine, by a camera sent down a recently drilled borehole.
The latest discovery followed footage taken just a month ago of the remains of two men and possibly a third, in another part of the mine.
Five men were thought to be in this part of the mine at the time of the explosion.
Sonya Rockhouse's son, Ben, was in that part of the mine where the remains have been identified.
She spoke to Morning Report's Susie Ferguson.
