UK lockdown could be extended, government warns

From Morning Report, 7:28 am on 2 November 2020

The British government has warned a four week lockdown in England could be extended if Covid-19 case numbers continue to rise.

The leader of the Labour Party, Keir Starmer, accused the government of incompetence by not implementing a lockdown he'd called for weeks before.

Senior Cabinet Minister, Michael Gove, defended the government's cautious approach to committing to a lockdown end date.
