Art attacked in German museums

From Morning Report, 6:16 am on 22 October 2020

Unknown vandals have purposefully and methodically damaged a large number of historical relics at three German museums.

More than 70 artefacts including Egyptian sarcophagi, nineteenth century paintings and classical sculptures were sprayed with an oily substance.

The attack took place on 3 October but the news was only revealed by police today.

While there's still much that's unknown about the incident some German media have linked the attack to conspiracy theories pushed through social media channels by prominent coronavirus deniers.
