Lefaoali'i chaired the Pacific Policy and Regulation Forum in Apia last month, where regional officials discussed privacy, data protection and cyber security.
The regulator told Mackenzie Smith she's especially concerned by the role Facebook played in spreading fake news during Fiji's November election.
