A suicide bomber has attacked a police checkpoint in the Pakistani city of Peshawar killing at least 10 people, including two officers.

A government official says the car exploded as police at the checkpoint went to search it. More than 25 others were injured, the BBC reports.

Peshawar has been regularly targeted by militants in recent weeks.

A car bombing on intelligence agency offices killed at least 12 people on Saturday.

Two weeks ago, more than 100 people were killed in a blast at a market.
