Power has been cut to thousands of homes by gale-force winds in southern Queensland.
Police say the wild weather toppled trees, causing a car crash on the Burnett Highway near Eidsvold shortly before 3am on Saturday.
The ABC reports wind gusts of more than 80km/h at both the Toowoomba and Brisbane airports, and even higher ones on Moreton Bay.
The Bureau of Meteorology says conditions should ease later in the day.
