Four people are missing after a volcanic eruption in Indonesia.

The Volcano and Geological Disaster Centre in Jakarta says the eruption of Mt Karangetang, in North Sulawesi province, was triggered by heavy rain.

Those missing lived in the area. Another person was reported to be injured after lava and hot ash fell.

The centre says villages near the volcano have not been evacuated as the eruption has ended and there is no further danger.
