British inquiry clears climate scientists

An independent inquiry has cleared British scientists whose leaked emails prompted speculation over the quality of research into climate change.

The inquiry largely dismissed claims by climate sceptics that leaked emails showed scientists at the University of East Anglia manipulated and suppressed key climate data.

However, the six-month investigation concluded they should have been more open about their work.
