A federal grand jury has indicted the Times Square bombing suspect on 10 charges.
Faisal Shahzad, 30, was arrested two days after the incident on 1 May, while trying to leave the United States on a flight from John F Kennedy airport in New York.
He is expected to appear in court on 21 June.
No plea was entered during his first court appearance on 18 May.
The charges include attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and attempted terrorism.
