The Fiji High Court has adjourned the case brought against ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase until 23 February.
Mr Qarase Is accused of abuse of office and was committed to stand trial last week on five charges.
Charges were brought by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption in 2008.
They relate to the Fijian Affairs Board in 2004 and the Fiji Development Bank in 1992.
However according to the Fijivillage website, the agency wants more time to consolidate conspiracy charges against him.
Defence lawyer Qoriniasi Bale has asked for further clarification from the court as to what the consolidation of charges will mean for his client.
The Fiji government was replaced by the military in December 2006. It was the fourth coup in Fiji since 1987.
