British broadcaster Stuart Hall - a football commentator - appeared before magistrates in the UK to face three charges of indecent assault.
The 82-year-old former It's A Knockout star from Wilmslow, Cheshire was charged in December following complaints to police about alleged incidents involving three girls aged between nine and 16.
Lancashire Police said the offences were alleged to have been committed between 1974 and 1984.
Police have stressed the case was not part of Operation Yewtree, the investigation into sexual offences allegedly committed by Jimmy Savile and others.
