Security forces in Egypt fired teargas to disperse demonstrators near the US embassy in Cairo late on Wednesday. It was the second incident there in 24 hours.
The protesters were venting their anger over a film insulting the Prophet Mohammad.
The American flag was earlier torn down and burned after the embassy compound was entered during another demonstration on Tuesday night.
