Unmanned drone kills nine in Pakistan

Intelligence officials in Pakistan say nine suspected militants have been killed in a missile attack by an unmanned American aircraft in the North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border.

Pilotless United States drones have frequently targeted Taliban and al-Qaeda hideouts in the area, the BBC reports.

The latest attack comes just days after Pakistan agreed to reopen supply routes for NATO forces in Afghanistan, which it had closed in protest at the deaths of Pakistani soldiers.

In further deadly violence, gunmen on motorcycles attacked a bus in southwestern Pakistan near the Iranian border, killing 18 people and wounding two.

The Pakistani police say the attack occurred when the bus, which was heading for Iran, stopped at a shop.
