Tiger Woods two year winless run has come to an end.

The former world golf number one has won the Chevron World Golf Challenge in California, his first tournament victory since the 2009 Australian Masters, when a sex scandal shattered his public image.

He's played 26 tournaments since, as his personal turmoil followed by struggles on the course with swing changes and injuries stalled his pursuit of Jack Nicklaus' record of 18 major titles at 14.

Woods, who's slumped to 52 in the world rankings, shot a final round three under par 69 to win by one shot from fellow American Zach Johnson at the Thousand Oaks course, sinking a six foot putt on the final hole.
