Sydney proved the post-Patrick Mills era will be challenging for Melbourne with an upset 89-80 away win in their Australian National Basketball League clash on Friday night.
Julian Khazzouh (22 points, nine rebounds) led the way for the Kings, silencing the Melbourne crowd with a string of late baskets to seal the crucial away victory.
Ben Madgen (26 points), Aaron Bruce (14 points, nine assists) and Jerai Grant (19 points) were the other main contributors for the Kings, who would've been thankful Mills has returned to the US in the hope the NBA season will start soon.
The Kings are now in sixth place on the ANBL ladder while the Tigers remain third.
Sydney now head to Perth to face the Wildcats on Sunday night.
