New Zealand's Dan Slater has won the US national finn class sailing championship in San Francisco.
Slater who finished 12th in the event at the recent Olympics, enjoyed the 8-18 knot conditions to win three out of the eight races.
Competing in a borrowed boat he headed off Canadian Richard Clarke, and Olympic silver medallist Zach Railey.
Slater will now turn his attention to his trimaran, competing back in New Zealand in the upcoming Coastal Classic yacht race.
