Sprinter James Dolphin has achieved the dubious honour of having the briefest appearance at the Beijing Olympics by a New Zealand athlete.
It's taken a little over 20 seconds for Dolphin's Beijing Olympic experience to come to an end after he clocked 20.98 seconds in the heats of the 200m, just under half a second outside his personal best.
The 100 metre gold medallist Usain Bolt again showed his class in his heat and while he finished second only looked to truly sprint for half the race as he cantered through to the next round.
Zimbabwe's Brian Dzingayi was the quickest qualifier with a time of 20.25 secs.
