The worst-kept secret in New Zealand football is out with confirmation the All Whites will play Paraguay in New Zealand in October.
The friendly will be the hosts' first match since their unbeaten run at the football World Cup in South Africa while Paraguay went on to reach the quarter finals where they lost to eventual champions Spain.
The All Whites drew nil-all with Paraguay, who're ranked 16th in the world, in their final pool game at the World Cup and New Zealand Football chief executive Michael Glading is glad to finally be able to announce the rematch.
Glading says bringing a top 20 team to New Zealand hasn't always been possible in the past, but the All Whites' performances in South Africa have improved New Zealand's reputation on the international scene.
The match will be played on October 12th with the venue yet to be confirmed and follows a Paraguay-Australia fixture in Sydney three days earlier.
