The New Zealand golfer Lynette Brooky is just off the lead after the opening round of the women's British Open at Royal Birkdale.
Brooky fired an even par 72 to be tied for 16th.
Taiwan's Yani Tseng, a two-time major winner, shares the lead at 4 under par with Australian Katherine Hull.
Michelle Wie, who finished joint third when she made her British Open debut at Birkdale as a 15-year-old amateur, is 2 shots from the leaders, while world number one Shin Jiyai of South Korea is another shot back on 71.
