The clubless All White midfielder Simon Elliot will be having a word with New Zealand and Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert about the possibility of playing for the Wellington based A League club.
Elliott was released by his American Major League club San Jose earlier this year and went to South Africa effectively unemployed.
Elliott, who's 36, was back home in Wellington yesterday for the All Whites parade and says while their performances in at the tournament have prompted some interest from clubs he hasn't been offered anything concrete.
He'd prefer to stay in the United States where his wife, who's a doctor, has a four year residency at a Los Angeles hospital.
But he hasn't ruled out joining the Phoenix and he'll be having a chat to Herbert before returning to the United States tomorrow.
