Austen Childs has secured the come-from-behind win for the New Zealand Davis Cup tennis team in the fifth match in the Asia/Oceania Group II semifinal against Pakistan, indoors in Hawera.
Childs, making his Davis Cup debut won the deciding fifth match against Aqeel Khan 6-1 6-3 6-3 to give the New Zealanders at 3-2 overall victory and a place in the Group II final against either Thailand or Indonesia in September.
Earlier today Rubin Statham easily defeated Aisam Qureshi to level the scores in the tie at 2-2.
