Hooker John Smit has been recalled to lead South Africa in the second rugby test against Italy in East London this weekend after recovering from a hamstring injury.
Smit, who will win his 96th cap, is one of five changes and two positional switches to the starting side which beat the Italians 29-13 in the first test in Witbank last week.
Six further changes have been made among the substitutes.
