The New Zealand cricket captain Dan Vettori has met with the match referee mid-test to express frustration over the umpire referral system.
It's understood Vettori was concerned about the length of time it took for B J Watling to be given out LBW in the second innings on review after the on field umpire initially gave him not out.
He also spoke to Javagal Srinath about Tim Southee's first innings dismissal when he was caught behind and despite replays showing he clearly missed it, the third umpire upheld the on field decision.
Greatbatch refused to go into details as to what was spoken about.
The Black Caps will resume their second innings this morning at 187 for five, still needing a further 115 runs to make Australia bat again.
Dan Vettori is on 18 and Brendon McCullum four, with Tim McIntosh having made 83 in an innings which lasted four and a half hours.
