A female spectator was struck by a ball off a Brendon McCullum six during Thursday's one day cricket International in Christchurch.
The woman was immediately taken to Christchurch hospital for observation and was still in hospital on Friday in a comfortable condition, according to New Zealand Cricket chief executive Justin Vaughan.
Vaughan said the event reinforced the need for match-day safety messages.
