NZ cyclists advance to medal rides

The New Zealand men's pursuit team will face Great Britain in the gold medal ride at the Track Cycling World Champs in Paris later this morining after beating Switzerland to advance to the title race.

The young quartet of Dylan Kennett, Pieter Bulling, Alex Frame and Marc Ryan, in their first ever competition, finished in a time of 3:56:198, just under a second slower than their gold medal opponents.

The New Zealanders finished third at last year's World Champs in Colombia.

The New Zealand women's pursuit team lost their first round race against Australia and will ride off against Canada for bronze also later this morning.

New Zealand's Commonwealth Games gold medallist sprinters Sam Webster and Eddie Dawkins have advanced to the second round of the men's keiren.
