England no easy beats: Hansen

10:53 pm on 2 June 2014

The All Black coach Steve Hansen has sounded a warning about England after naming a 31-player squad for this month's three-Test series in New Zealand.

Hansen says England are the most improved side in world rugby in the last two years.

He says their coach Stuart Lancaster has built depth into the side and a strong culture, and those who think England will be fielding a weak team in the first Test are mistaken.

Several players in Lancaster's squad are yet to arrive in New Zealand after taking part in Sunday's English domestic final between Northampton and Saracens.

Those players have been ruled out of the team for Saturday's first Test at Eden Park.

The two nations have played 36 times since 1905 with 28 wins to the All Blacks, seven losses and one draw.
