Auckland golfer Lydia Ko is tied for 15th after the first round of the Atlantic City Classic in New Jersey.

Ko fired a three under par 68 to trail the American leader Jennifer Johnson by six strokes.

On the men's PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy has tumbled out of the lead after a disastrous second round 78 at the Memorial Tournament in Ohio.

After winning the British PGA Championship last week, McIlroy took the lead at Memorial with an impressive first round 63.

However, he's now in a share of 25th at three under par, nine strokes behind the English leader Paul Casey.

Meanwhile on the European Tour, there's a three-way tie for the lead heading into the weekend at the Nordea Masters in Malmo.

The home favourite and world number two Henrik Stenson is one stroke adrift of the trio of Victor Dubuisson, Alvaro Quiros and Eddie Pepperell, who are tied on six under par.
