There's a subdued celebratory tone around the Team New Zealand camp in the wake of its Louis Vuitton Cup win at the America's Cup in San Francisco.

Team New Zealand won the challenger series by beating Italian syndicate Luna Rossa in race eight, by 3 minutes 20 seconds, to take the best of 13 challenger series 7-1.

Skipper Dean Barker and his crew will now challenge holder Oracle for the America's Cup with the first race in the best of 17 series, on September 8th.

Luna Rossa was never a major threat but Team New Zealand's managing director Grant Dalton says Oracle will be a much tougher proposition.
