GM says bankruptcy won't hurt Olympic sponsorship

7:07 pm on 2 June 2009

Car maker General Motors says filing for bankruptcy protection will have "no impact" on its sponsorship of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

GM has committed almost $93 million to the Games in Vancouver, mostly in the form of cars and trucks, as well as roughly $US18.5 million in cash.

GM isn't saying how much has already been handed over to Olympic organisers, and how much is yet to come.
