Inconsistency plays on skipper heading into final Test

The tendency of New Zealand cricket teams to follow up a good performance with a poor one is lurking at the back of captain Dan Vettori's mind heading into the third and final Test against India starting in Wellington tomorrow.

Despite dominating the drawn second Test in Napier, the Black Caps need to win at the Basin Reserve if they're to level the series, after India won the opening Test in Hamilton by 10 wickets.

Vettori says that inconsistency has been all too apparent in the current series and he's saying the same things to his team as he did before the good performance in Napier - namely to bat and bowl for longer and to be more consistent.
