Waratahs go top with victory over the Blues

12:58 pm on 28 March 2009

The New South Wales Waratahs have beaten the Blues for the first time at Eden Park, winning 27-22.

Both sides scored three tries apiece, however the kicking of Daniel Halangahu was the difference, the first five eight's personal haul of 17 points seeing the Sydney side home.

The Waratahs led from the start.

It's been 81 years since a New South Wales team has won at Auckland's Eden Park.

The win's also the first time the Waratahs have scored four wins over New Zealand opponents in one Super Rugby season, and it moves them to top of the Super 14, at least temporarily.
