Last night's opening match in the all-Melbourne finals of the Australian National Basketball League resulted in a 12-point win for the Dragons over the Tigers.
The scores were level at the first two breaks, and the Tigers took a 3-point lead into the final quarter. But a 12-point last quarter from captain Mark Worthington helped last year's wooden spooners outscore the defending champions 33-18 in the final term for a 93-81 win.
Game two in the best-of-five series is on Friday night.
