The New Zealand women's cricket side has won the opening match of the Rose Bowl series against Australia by two wickets.
Amy Satterwaite scored 49 not out as the White Ferns chased down Australia's total of 150 with 26 balls to spare in Whangarei yesterday.
At one stage the hosts were 28 for five after 10 overs.
Earlier, the Australians also suffered a collapse to be 39 for five before a fighting 52 from Jodie Fields enabled them to recover.
The second game in the five-match series is in Whangarei tomorrow.
