Plans for this week's Australian PGA Championship golf tournament seem to be back on track after talks on Monday eased concerns over controversial signage around the Coolum course on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.
The Coolum resort is owned by the maverick billionaire Clive Palmer who erected signage around the course promoting his company Mineralogy, a proposed Titanic replica, and a sign promoting "Freedom of Speech".
Palmer had already raised eyebrows by placing an eight metre replica dinosaur dubbed `Jeff' near the ninth green.
At one stage on Sunday Palmer told organisers they were no longer welcome at his resort, but the Australasian PGA Tour's chief executive Brian Thorburn said after talks it's business as usual for the tournament, which starts on Thursday.
The event is expected to be relocated to the Gold Coast from next year.
