The United States has beaten Rugby World Cup first-timers Russia 13-6.
The Pool C match was played in New Plymouth.
The Russians took an early lead with a penalty but the US equalised the score soon afterwards.
The United States scores came from a try by Mike Petri, converted by Chris Wyles and 2 penalties by Wyles.
Russia's points were from penalties by Yury Kushnarev and Konstantin Rachkov.
The United States played their opening game against Ireland on Sunday, losing 22 to 10 but Thursday evening's match was Russia's first.
It is also the first time Russia has played in a Rugby World Cup tournament.
