The Government is increasing funding for residential treatment of eating disorders by more than 50% in this year's Budget.
Health Minister Tony Ryall says an extra $26 million in new funding will go towards extra services for eating disorders over the next four years.
He says the investment will mean up to eight new residential community beds for Auckland and four at Starship hospital, as well as expansion to services in the Central and Southern regions.
The new services are expected to begin from mid-next year.
