Mana has confirmed it will stand a candidate in the Ikaroa Rawhiti by-election, made vacant by the death of Labour MP Parekura Horomia.
Mana leader Hone Harawira said he has had number of calls urging the party to stand a candidate.
He said Mr Horomia's passing leaves a huge void, and Mana intends to find somebody with the same level of energy he had.
The selection process will begin on 18 May and a candidate is expected to be announced by 22 May.
The by-election will be held on Saturday, 29 June.
